 AS the new year slowly asserts itself, we are still in the heat of recalling how great the previous year was.
Fabulous would be a fitting term to describe 2007. And here are some of the reasons why.
In 2007:
The Kuwagos released their debut album. The album would catapult the band to the top of the Fil-Am music scene.
Usually dominated by West Coast bands and artists, three Poptimes groups finally appeared on National Cable TV via the ABS CBN/TFC show, 'Speakout' : Bleud, The Kuwagos, and The Happy Analogues
The Happy Analogues released their debut album, 'Lilacs and Politics'. The band would also release a free EP, 'Three Hundred Sixty Five', to commemorate their 1st year as a group.
Binky Bianca made their debut performance in NYC.
The Poptimes Magazine 1st Anniversary in New York City showcased bands from all over the US and Canada in an unprecedented 2-night event.
Steel Polly launched their debut album
Filipino-Canadian bands Noizytoyz and Out of Luck toured New York and New Jersey.
A new Fil-Am music website based in Northern California, Fil-Ammusic.com, was launched.
Ex- Warholsoup drummer, Tim De Ramos, now based in LA, formed a new band–Carpools, taking up guitar and lead vocals.
Chicago-based group 'Bagwis' launched their debut album, ' Imulat Mo'.
Alfa Garcia released her new EP
