Chicago Pinoy Music Scene Announces Compilation Album

NEW YORK-CPMS or Chicago Pinoy Music Scene, the Filipino-American artist community in Chicago announced their latest project for 2009: The CPMS Compilation Album.
The project is open to all Chicago Filipino and Filipino-American artists who write their own materials. Here are the criteria for artists who want to be a part of this historic compilation in Chicago:

Note : This CD compilation is OPEN to ALL Genre of MUSIC ...

1. You must be from the Chicago-land area (City, suburbs and surrounding area)

2. ALL songs submitted MUST be ORIGINAL and UNRELEASED, MASTERED if possible.

Example: Bagwis cannot submit any songs from our first album because all songs on Imulat Mo are released.
If you are a DJ, you need to produce your own music,sounds, beats, electronic music, etc.

3. There must be at least 1 Filipino in the band and IS a contributing song writer

4. Bands are to submit 2 of their BEST songs but only 1 will be chosen for the compilation.

5. maximum of 6 minutes per song (lets all be considerate people! ... more bands on the compilation the better! Know that if your track is to lengthy, it may effect the outcome of the judgement)

6. Judging will be based on the totality of the song ( originality, lyrics etc, but will not be judge based on genre)
we will leave the technical judging when we do our CPMS Rock Awards :0 )

7. Each band is responsible for the copyright of their songs, but will agree to license the copyright of their music for CPMS to realease in the compilation.

8. Lyrics MUST be provided. Although we encourage you to express yourselves as artist and writers, CPMS does not promote Hate and Divisiveness.

CPMS were able to raise enough funds to do a DOUBLE CD. If we end up doing a single CD, its all good to.
We wanted to make sure that we have enough funds for the double CD because initially when we all first started talking about it we were relatively small. Our family is getting bigger now.

Originally we wanted all songs to be submitted by Dec 19, but it would better to finish off the Holiday season.

DEADLINE to submit song is January 2 2009.
