Victor “oneson” Acosta SAN DIEGO - “I believe my music was meant for a higher cause,” says Victor “oneson” Acosta, of Sleeping Giant Music. “Aside from entertaining people, my heart says to help and support those in need.”
As a man of his word, oneson is using his newest single, This One’s for You, as a vehicle for contribution. His record label, Sleeping Giant Music, is teaming up with the grassroots charity “Shirt the Kid” created by Elizar Javier, Founder and CEO of Pnoy Aparrel Inc, to bring clothing and monetary aid to impoverished children in his homeland, the Philippines.
Capitalizing on his smooth R&B vocals, uplifting lyrics, mixed with fresh rhymes and beats supplied by Hip Hop heavy-hitters, producer Oddisee, and Dannu of the Visionaries/Writer’s Block, oneson hopes to raise enough money to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
“My ideal outcome is that each person will give .99 cents to support Shirt the Kid--and it’s only .99 cents for a download that will go a long way,” says oneson.
With all proceeds going to “Shirt the Kid,” those who download the single would make a huge difference in the lives of Filipino children across the Pacific—since 80 percent of the Philippines’ population struggles to live on $2 per day.
