NEW YORK– The largest gathering of Filipino bands from all over North America kicked off last night in New York City and went straight into the pages of Filipino-American music history.

Rock in the Box Weekend opening night was everything everyone hoped for it to be: Hot, wild, and overflowing with the spirit of community.

The Rehab in NYC was packed from end to end and the music were as loud as the pounding of everyone's heart as they bear witness to a monumental event.

The multitude of people sang, slammed and danced along with great bands from all  over the US: Wallows, Blue Mellon pop, Bleud, Bagwis, Sodapop Suicide, John Violago, Jason Castillo, Kayumanggi, Earplug, The Third Element, Indiagos, Lucidblur,  and The Kuwagos. The show was hosted by Jeffrey Wiley.

The second night of this historic weekend is happening tonight at Crash Mansion(199 Bowery also in New York City). This night will be the album launch of the compilation album 'Rock in the Box 2 and is also guaranteed to equal or even surpass the frenzy of opening night

Tonight, 12 of the 16 bands in the compilation album are performing live along with other great artists as well.

Tickets will only be available at the door for $15.
