Rock in the Box 2

A SEQUEL to one of the most successful Fil- Am compilation albums ever is shipping soon.

In 2006, some of the best bands in the East Coast music scene were featured in what was dubbed as the definitive Fil Am compilation album to date.

Artists like Bleud, The Kuwagos, The Speaks, Titofelix, Alfa Garcia, Grim Bottle, Rubberband, The Happy Analogues, Jay Legaspi, The Moonbugs, The 3rd Element, Bagwis, Sodapop Suicide, Blue Mellon Pop and others that are now household names in the scene,  were among the participants of the first box.

It was launched in August of last year and was hailed as a breakthrough gig in recent Fil Am music history.

Now the sequel is not just for  East Coast artists. It is open to all.
As a matter of fact, you can be from as far as Manila.

For submission info.. read more.

Submission instructions:

Submission time period is from September 15 to November 30
Artists can only submit or upload ONE entry only.
Include a bio or electronic press kit with the song file

Submission is free.

Demos need not be mastered. A simple vocal and acoustic guitar or piano will do.
However, artists with mastered entries can also submit. If selected, we will use the mastered submissions in the album.

Selected artists who have no means to record their entries need not to worry.
Soulworks Records and Poptimes Magazine will record you in our studios for free, provided you can travel to Jersey.

If you prefer to record it on your own, that will work too.
However the producers need to have input in the production of your entry, hence constant communication with them is important.

How to upload  entries:

1. Register on Poptimes Magazine and log in.

2. Once logged in, you can see the RITB2 - Submit Music Button under the USER Menu.

Click the button and follow the instructions.

3. Upload a ZIP FILE with your mp3 and an artist's bio and contact info.

*MAKE SURE you select the category Rock in the Box 2 in the drop down menu.

*Files should not be more than 15 MB.

4. You are all set.

5. We will contact you as soon as the deadline ends.

Contract info:

Once selected we will send you a contract.
As with the first Rock in the Box, artists will keep the rights to their submissions.
We will just license the songs for a specific period of time.

*Since Rock in the Box higlights upcoming bands,

Entries from artists who were included in the first Rock in the Box will not be accepted.

joshcasis  - info ng banda ko!   |2007-09-26 23:39:35
avatar dito ko nalang isesend kc nag error pagka save ko!may topak laptop ko!hehe!is it
ok kung d2 nlang?

What the hell does the name Mariposa's Demise mean?" is
probably the first question that popped out in your head when you saw the name.
Well, it literally means... Fall of a butterfly."Fall of a who and what
now?" is the next question in your puny little mind. We, the band, adapted
this name and incorporated its essence into our music. Just like a butterfly
emerging from its cocoon, we usually start our music off slow and moody. As it
reaches its peak, zig-zagging into the horizon, our music boldly explodes and
unfolds its true colors. Finally, as our song ends, this butterfly will
experience its doom. It will lie on the ground waiting for somebody, a someone,
a YOU, for it to be picked up, dissected, and maybe appreciated. *** We are a
band with three vocalist who loves to experiment, and mix diff. genres to avoid
