Charmine Clamor LOS ANGELES - The official monitor of jazz radio airplay in America, JazzWeek, announced today that Filipino-American vocalist Charmaine Clamor is once again headed for the World Music charts.
In its initial week of release to radio programmers, Charmaine's new CD, My Harana: A Filipino Serenade, is officially listed as "Chartbound" by JazzWeek. This is the first time an album performed entirely in Filipino languages and dialects has earned this honorable distinction. Ms. Clamor's previous CD, Flippin' Out, made both the World Music and Jazz charts, introducing mainstream listeners to "jazzipino," the blending of American jazz with Filipino melodies, languages, and instruments.
