Wow! This 2007 Labor Day weekend, we experienced the greatest gathering of Fil-Am and Fil-Can rock bands in history. The music was top quality, and boy did we have fun jumping around to the beat. Our ears will definitely be ringing for days. We also leave with memories that will last forever! And these memories deserve an award, don’t they??

“Consummatum est!”

NEW YORK --- New York’s Blue Mellon Pop played the first chord at 8:15 PM, Friday, August 31, 2007 and opened the two-night anniversary rock festival of Poptimes Magazine.

Los Angeles-based alternative group, ‘Stella’s Notch’ at 3:45 Am of September 2, 2007, struck the last chord that closed the festival.

It was symbolic: East Coast and West Coast, opening and closing the celebrations that will forever be in the hearts and minds of Filipino-American artists and supporters and won itself a place in Filipino-American music history.

A year since it popped

THIS Labor Day weekend, we celebrate the 1st anniversary of our online home, Poptimes Magazine.
 Not long ago, in 2005, this fancy website was just a lowly downloadable PDF electronic magazine sent to monthly via email to subscribers.
It covered the East Coast Fil Am music scene as well as some music news from Manila.

Biggest gathering of Filipino–American artists set in New York City

NEW YORK CITY - On Friday, August 31, and Saturday, September 1, 2007, New York City will play host to the biggest gathering of Filipino- American artists in recent memory., 19 bands from all over the US and Canada will meet for two nights of pure rock music to celebrate the first anniversary of the premiere Filipino-American online music magazine, Poptimes.
