BLEUD
AFTER being the only television program that showcases Fil-Am music artists for four years, TFC's SPEAKOUT will end its run. Although on its final episode to be aired next week, they will give the East Coast scene yet one last break: They will be using Bleud's 'Bye Bye Na' for their finale. Bleud appeard on the show last February and it was seen as one of the most viewed episodes of Speakout. So, in behalf of the Soulworks Records artists that appeared on the ground-breaking show: Bleud, The Kuwagos, and the Happy Analogues, we thank JC, Tallulah, and all the producers of the show. 'Bye Bye Na'... we hope just for now.

If there is one Striving in Greater Hopes show that you want to attend, it is the one on December 14th at Mr. Beery's in Bethpage, NY!!!! Thats right, we made it to round 2 of Bodog's battle of the bands! Please show your support by attending our most important show to date and vote!!! vote!! Vote!!!!! The submission process for next year's highly anticipated sequel to one of the most successful Fil-Am music compilation albums is over.
Now it's time for the selection process to begin.
The selection committee:
The selection of the final 14 songs that will make the final cut of the album will be handled by nine individuals: Four industry personnel, two from the media, and three music fans.
The committee will employ a percentage system of selection based on the following criteria:
1. Melody - %35
2. Lyrics - % 35
3. Originality:15
4. Performance: %10
5. "IT" factor: %5
The committee will also be voting in a blind system, wherein they will just be given the songs without knowing who the artists are. Likewise, they would not be able to know the votes of their fellow members of the committee.
The final lineup will be released in the week before Christmas, and it will be posted on www.poptimesmagazine.com and www.soulworksrecords.com
The selected artists will have the option to re-record their songs, free of charge, in the label's New Jersey Studio with the label's in house producers. Schedules of sessions will be discussed if artists would make use of this option.
Selected artists will receive a licensing contract from Souwlorks Records, which they will sign, upon reading the provisions. It will be sent back by mail to the label before production.
