NEW YORK– In yet another show of strength that can rival the combined forces of the two typhoons that wreck havoc in the Philippines, ‘Ondoy’ and ‘Pepeng,’ local artists, music scene supporters, and community groups staged a triumphant benefit show on Sunday, October 11, in New York City raising $1,120 to aid the victims of these weather calamities through Sagip-Tulong sa Pilipinas and The Philippine National Red Cross.
The show Flood Aid 1, a community effort led by Poptimes Magazine, Ugnayan ng mga Anak ng Bayan, the local Fil-Am music supporters, and Damayan Migrant Workers featured the world class talents of Jeni Nielsen, Sodapop Suicide, John Flor Sisante, Pachada, Qwadra, Trickbag, John Violago, Prtdth,  Jay Legaspi, Higher Ground, and 2 D.I.M.
