This solo debut from ex-Eraserheads guitarist Marcus Adoro is a master class in Tagalog songwriting. One can now imagine, after listening to this album, that it was Marcus who gave the ‘Heads their funny side. Do you remember the Punk Zappa bits in Circus? We are certain that ideas like such were brewed inside this surfer's cranium.

When the ‘Heads broke up, the other three members released albums with their new groups. Ely did some with The Mongols, then Pupil. Raims did a lot with Sandwich and his other projects; same with Buddy with the Dawn and Twisted Halo. But none of those releases had the charm of the early
Eraserheads albums. For some reason, the efforts of Ely, Raims and Buddy picked up the later part of the Eraserheads’ work– serious and oftentimes over-indulgent. But this album by Marcus is everything the Eraserheads became famous for. The songs are funny, catchy, and well-played. It is Ultraelectromagneticpop meets Circus and Cutterpillow with a twist of the Rolling Stones.

We’re not going to tire out of this album anytime soon. This is perfect road trip music–Highway music.
Markus Highway's album works because it is simple yet compelling. It does not require much from the listener yet it gives a lot –and that is what classics records do.
