MIKEY BUSTOS captivates audiences with his energy, lyrics, performance and passion. He touches the hearts of music lovers internationally with his passionate soulful vocals and emotionally charged song lyrics. Beyond the sheer marvel of his voice, his brilliance as an artist, performer, and songwriter has placed him in an exceptional category that earned him a reputation for igniting the crowd with his mercurial vocalese and musicianship show after show.

Mikey’s journey commenced at the age of 5 with very early age appearances on various TV commercials and public service announcements. He continued to sing throughout his high school and while attending University of Guelph in 2001, he attained the title of Grand Champion of a top ten Canadian Universities singing competition called “Joint-U-Singing”.
 

2003: Mikey placed 8th with his extraordinary voice and won the hearts of millions of people
across the country with his appearance on Canadian Idol Season One. He received critical
acclamation from the judges (Sass Jordan, Zack Werner, Farley Flex and Jake Gold) as he
established the largest fan base early in the competition.
Mikey recorded with BMG Canada/Vik Recordings for the Canadian Idol compilation album,
which hit GOLD status on the Soundscan Billboard charts on second day of release and ranked in
the Top 5 selling Canadian albums in its debut week, selling over 60,000 units nationwide.

In 2004 Mikey recorded and performed in New York City, collaborating and recording
with acclaimed producer Glen Swan (producer who has worked with Madonna, Mariah
Carey, Tupac Shakur, and Notorious B.I.G.) of the renowned Chung King Studios.

2005: Mikey finally released his debut EP record entitled “Love Me Again” produced by Brent
Bodrug of B-Group Music. His CD became available at all HMV locations across Canada, as well
as other retail stores within the GTA and has since sold 2,000+ units.

2006: Mikey continued to bring his music outside of Canada, performing in numerous places in the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Sand Diego, Las Vegas, and many more. He also began to take his music in into the international market, traveling to the Philippines, where he was front act for pop girl group, The Pussycat Dolls. Mikey also had a series of guest appearances in three of the largest television networks in the Philippines including MTV Asia.

2007: Mikey was front act for Christina Aguilera in the Philippines in July and was featured in a commercial for MTV Canada aired in August.

2008: Mikey continues to wow audiences from all over the world with his talent and continues to culminate a global following. Mikey’s latest full-length album “Memoirs of a Superhero” was released on December 23rd, 2008 on iTunes, HMV, Amazon, and other retailers. The pop album is a collection of original songs written by Mikey. He is currently writing a book and seeking a career in acting and modeling.
