Entry One: Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC
The production crew of Poptimes Magazine and Soulworks went to Bionic Leg studio in Maryland last Saturday, March 15, to meet and greet with the Rock in the Box 2 artists: PI, Circled Sin and Steel Polly.
Circled Sin also tracked their RTB2 song in the studio through the kindness of Bionic Leg's Marco Galsim and family. The session was overseen by Ted Reyes, Ronnie Lao, Gatchie Ignacio and produced by Jerwin Glorioso.
Meanwhile, The Poptimes Magazine and Poptimes Magazine TV crew of Kristine Glorioso, Richard ' Jonze' Saguirre, Brijo Miguel and Sheryl Garcia-Reyes did the promo work for the upcoming compilation album and the magazine's special edition issue. View photos by Marco Galsim. More photos to come!
They interviewed the three bands for the magazine and for Poptimes TV.
Aside from the working atmosphere, there was also a party feel to all of it– with great food: Jojo of PI brought 'Turon' and 'Shing-A-Ling' in tribute to two songs by Bleud and The Happy Analogues, respectively– and an overflow of beer.
It is important to note that Gatchie wasn't able to join us in the morning trip to MD because of a heavy hangover after a wild drinking bout Friday night. However, he took the 2: 30 PM Amtrak train to Baltimore and managed to join us in the afternoon. Awesome!
It was great to see all the Maryland scenesters there: Lek, Mary, Figs, Maricel, Natalie, Tito De Leon, and Lloyd of The Moonbugs.
Thanks to PI, Circled Sin and Steel Polly. Many thanks also to the Poptimes and Soulworks crew: What dedication! Special thanks to Bionic Leg: Marco Galsim and family. You guys are the best!
